Club Update: Covid-19

A Chairde,

Whether it’s to go to the gym together on a Monday, do basic skills together on a Wednesday, play cards together on a Thursday, go out for some craic together on a Friday, play our gaelic games together on a Saturday, watch GAA games in Ireland on the TV together on a Sunday, there is hardly a day goes by throughout the year when our members are not together. Through this togetherness we have become known as The Shamily.
We are now in strange times of self-isolation and although not physically together we remain together as a strong community. Reach out to all your team-mates, club members and beyond to make sure we are all remaining strong and healthy.

Winter Superleague

With the announcement that all sporting facilities will remain closed until at least May 1st, the current Winter Superleague is POSTPONED. We are working on several possibilities to finish out the current league once social distancing measures are lifted.

A Message from the Irish Dept of Foreign Affairs in Canada

Dear all,

I would like to thank you for your assistance over the past couple of weeks in helping us get our messaging out to the Irish community on our various social media platforms.

Given how active the GAA network is across Canada, the support you are giving us is invaluable in terms of getting the latest updates out to the younger members of our community here. In case you’re not following us already, or as a reminder, our Twitter handle is @irlembcanada, and our Instragram is irelandincanada. We’d be grateful if you could continue to share our updates as we post them.

I know some of your members may have concerns about various issues arising from the COVID-19 situation, and so I wanted to send along a link with the latest IRCC guidance that has been shared by Canadian Embassies on Twitter today.

As always, we encourage everyone to check all travel advisories and requirements before travel. For the latest information on the COVID-19 situation in Ireland, including travel advice, please see here:

if anyone is in need of consular assistance they can call the Embassy on +1 613 233 6281, or email [email protected]

Sincerely,
Liam Twomey
