Recap

Report by: Galway Whispers

Tension was boiling right before the toss-up by the referee. The popcorn salesmen were feeling the jitteriness from the crowed; this promised to be an epic battle.

The Warriors were missing Jasmine Akkermans who sprained her foot in an ultimate hopscotch battle vs Ronan Corbett and rookie Maddisson Cummings was also missing out in action. Blackrocks were missing rookie legacy Orla Mahon and Tiphaine (The Bully) Levrat.

Led by the leadership of Claire Lubell, The Blackrocks looked stronger than ever. Claire was seen all over the field putting her mark on the game with her soccer background kicks finishing the night at (2-4). The Warriors were sure to give the Blackrocks a hard time, Amy Holdcroft was playing as if she was possessed as she was seen trying to plow her way through multiple players in rapid successions, she finished her night at (0-3) but deserved a lot more. Julie Morrice also finishing the night at (0-3) had a kicker of a game as she was setting up multiple teammates for great scoring opportunities and knocking a few points herself well over the bar.

In the second half the Blackrocks attack did not stop, Lara Santis scored 3 goals herself and Jenn Dumais finished her night at (3-3) despite a broken finger. Shera Robinson also had a grand night as usual as she finished (0-4), but before her night was done she was seen kicking the ball to the side of the field with authority. Popcorn salesmen were seen ducking for their lives. Rumors have it she forgot which way the opponent’s net was; we think she did not like someone in the crowed. Despite not making it on the score sheet, other players deserved a mention, Carly Bennett never stopped and made sure no one had an easy ball. Lauren McConway was seen setting up players with great passes instead of going for her own points.

In the end the Blackrocks experience pulled through with a win, what will happen when they face off against the Vikings in a long awaited battle? The Warriors are looking stronger than ever and their game vs the Gaels will be one of the best games expected this winter.
