Recap

Report by: Nobility Luckless

The 6th week of the Winter Superleague saw the Gaels take on the Vikings. The Gaels, currently 0-2 were hungry for their first win of the season while the Vikings were looking to build momentum after a hard fought win against the Warriors 2 weeks prior.

This game also saw the debut of Teean Cummins for the Vikings. Teean, who had just arrived in Montréal was fresh and ready to show what he was made of. Cormac Noonan was also going to start his first game for the Gaels but was unfortunately injured by Teean before the match in the hurling game. Could this be the beginning of a long-standing rivalry between the two superstars??

Cummins wasted no time to get known by the Gaels defense as he notched 1 goal and 3 points in the first half. As the Gaels players adjusted, Guillaume Blais and Brian Treacy were also doing damage for their side, combining for 1 goal and 5 points.

The match remained close until half time but the Vikings slowly started pulling ahead. Sam St-Laurent used his size in the forward line to put through 2 goals and 3 points while Corbett, Chamberland and Cummins also added goals. Blais and Paul Docherty finally contributed goals in the final minutes of the second half but it was too little too late. Final score Vikings: 31 Gaels: 24
