Recap

Report by: ATB

Under Saturday night lights in the Stingerdome, the Na Fianna Rouges lined out against their rivals PSC Cu Chulainn.
This was a top of the table clash, with the two teams fighting it out to gain the upperhand leading into the league final in early April.
The absence of Olivier Sakr between the sticks for the Rouges meant that their captain, Liam Twomey sacrificed his midfield jersey for a goalkeeper’s one in the first half.
Na Fianna Rouges started brightly with a few points early in the game as Damien Conneely, Alan Baxter and Ronan Corbett all got on the scoresheet.
PSC Cu Chulainn, led by Dave Keane, reacted by driving up the field to attack the Rouges goal and were rewarded with a goal by Alexis Kelly and points by Conall Mac Cionnaith and Martin
Lawless.
A switch in goal for the Rouges at half time allowed Liam Twomey to resume his role in midfield and settled his team with a few well-taken scores.
However, goals by Thomas Dayon and newbie Sebastian Dube allowed PSC to creep back in and eventually overcome the Rouges by the slenderest of margins, with only 1 point separating the teams at the final whistle.
It remains to be seen whether this result will be replicated in the Winter Superleague final, which takes place on the 13th of April at 6:00pm.
Best of luck to all in the final.
