Na fianna struggled for numbers and were helped out by some harps players.
In the first half, na Fianna had the majority of possession but failed to convert many of their chances leaving them only 4 points up at half time despite controlling the game so far. In the second half, psc grew in confidence and built up a healthy lead thanks to half a dozen goals from their danger man Liam Patterson-Morris who was fed lots of ball from John Lawless clearances from the backs.
But with about 12 mins to go, something clicked with na Fianna and everything went right for them.
Trojan work from Damien Coneeley and Conor mc Neilis in the centre of the field allowed them back in the game and with 5 mins to go they were only a puck of the ball away from bringing it back to a draw. It seems the pressure was too much at that point and PSC did well to hold onto their 3 point lead to win the game. Overall a very exciting, fast-paced game of hurling with great performances of both sides. What a way to kick off this year’s hurling summer Superleague!!
