Montreal City Blues vs Griffintown Gaels

On Monday the 24th of September 2018, the Gaels played against the Blues.
At full time the score got in favor to the Gaels 28 (6 goals 10 points) to 23 (6 goals 5 points).
As the score can reflect it was a tied game, mixing a high volume of continuous play and good defense from both sides.
Both teams scored lots of goals; thus, both teams had to work hard towards victory. Approaching the end of the game the intensity dropped a bit, mainly due to very ambitious plays from both teams.

We’ll notice an incredible goal in the first half from the blues, shot from the mid field the football went up into the air them final dropped into the net.
The top scorers from the games are Martin Bainham with a total of 16 points on the blues sides. On the Gaels side, 3 players came out we similar results, Daniel Simpson with a total of 9 points, Tony Cunningham with 7 point and Vincent power with 7 points as well.

Gaels are now advancing to the final on Saturday against the Vikings.

Verdun Vikings vs Goose Village Blackrocks

As the summer super League draws to a close, first up of the final fixtures was Verdun Vikings and the Blackrocks.
Verdun have already booked their place in Saturday’s final. For the Blackrocks it’s all still to to play for, although it being a mammoth task to win by 38 points.

They most certainly were the fastest team out of the blocks. After just three minutes of play Goose Village opened the scoring with a goal from Alan Baxter, before the Vikings even got a chance to reorganise the Blackrocks had pressed forward. With a fantastic foot pass from Stevie Owens to Liam Twomey only for the ball to be saved by the great Olivier Sakr.

After a hectic start, Vikings opened there account with a point from the ever present Paddy Bourke. After some excellent goalkeeping by Oliver to deny Alan “the beard” Baxter, Paddy added some more scores to bring his tally to a healthy three points.
Emmanuel Wilson got on the end of some good Blackrock build up to add another goal to put pressure on Verdun.
Verdun responded when needed with points coming from Ronan Corbett showing they always have another gear, a part of the make up of a league topping team.

That great finish coming from the boot of Clement Broca for the vikings. After an incredible half both teams went in for the half time tea and Jaffa cakes with the teams level at 3.2 to 1.8.

As the fall closed in on the summer so did the Vikings on the Blackrocks. Four minutes into the 2nd half a dropped ball in the Blackrocks square to be picked up by Thomas Dayon who struck the ball into the back of the Blackrocks net.
With the pressure now mounting on the Blackrock’s. they answered all of Verdun’s questions. A super fist pass by Alan Baxter to Liam came after 12 minutes all that was left for Liam to do was bury the ball past Ollie.

The final moments of the game was tit for tat, before the Vikings eventually pulling 4 points clear on the final whistle. All over for the BlackRocks. The final score ending Verdun Vikings 2.15 & Goose village 4.5.
