Week nine of the superleague sees a Verdun Vikings double header in ladies’ and men’s football, all starting at 7pm on Monday the 25th of July, at Vanier College.
First, we have ladies’ football where the Vikings will take on top of the table Griffintown Gaels. A victory here for the Vikings would mean they can finish no lower than second, guaranteeing them a spot in the final, against the Gaels themselves. The Gaels will be looking to keep their formidable form going, a result that would keep the Blackrocks faint hopes of reaching the finals alive.
With everyone deeply invested in the results of this match, it should be a cracker.
Next, we have men’s football, with the Goose Village Blackrocks being the Verdun Vikings opposition. Things are very tight in the men’s football, with only three points separating the top and bottom of the table, and just three games left to play for both these teams. The Blackrocks will be looking to put some daylight between themselves and the Vikings in the race for the second place, and to narrow the gap at the top of the table to a point. Meanwhile, the Vikings will want to build on their last result and use it to launch a push for the top of the table themselves.
With everything left to play for, there’ll be no quarter asked or given in this match.
