Week thirteen of the superleague is a small ball double header! With the Football season done and dusted, it’s time for our Hurling and Camogie teams to round out the summer. We have the last regular season games for both this Monday, the 29th of August, starting at 7pm at the Concordia Stadium.
First we go to the hurling, where PSC have enjoyed the lions share of the wins so far this summer, and are looking to go into the finals with yet another one under their belt. Na Fianna have been able to land some punches of their own this summer and taking the last league game before the finals would surely put them on the front foot for the big day.
Next we have camogie, where it’s a very similar story, but the names are reversed. Here Na Fianna have yet to taste the bitterness of defeat and will have no intentions of starting now. PSC are still looking to find that extra gear that’d let them go toe to toe with Na Fianna, and this presents a last chance to find it before the finals.

Summer Superleague 2022: Football Finals
The first set of finals for the summer superleague of 2022 are here!
It’s a football final double header, with the ladies’ football final opening proceedings, followed by the men’s final. This will be kicking off on Friday the 26th of August, starting at the slightly later time of 7:30pm at Vanier.
With the Gaels having put the Goose Village Blackrocks to the sword last week, the Vikings’ place in the finals was secured. On paper, the Gaels will be favourites here, they’re unbeaten this season, and are coming in off the back of a solid win. But the Vikings squad will be better rested and will surely have something to prove against such an imperious side. With both teams capable of fine flowing football, this final should be an absolute cracker.
Following on from this we will have the men’s final – this fixture was decided back in week ten, when the Gaels put an end to any hopes of a fairy-tale end to the season for the Verdun Vikings. But the Vikings might still have a part to play, as they handed the Blackrocks a defeat last week that could very well knock their confidence. On the other hand, while the Gaels will have the advantage of a longer rest that might be coupled with some more cobwebs to shake on the day. There’s very little between these two sides and this one could go either way, and with both sides having some grudges to settle, this promises to be an entertaining end to the summer football season!
