Summer Superleague 2021: Week Four Results

Week four of the Superleague saw two very tight games, both decided by the narrowest of margins. In hurling N.D.G. Na Fianna Rouges and the St Henri Harps played a cagey game, with fine defensive work from the Rouges MVP Brian Treacy keeping the Harps at bay, while Julie Morrice made strong attacking plays to keep the Rouge on their toes. In the end a last minute goal broke the deadlock, with the Rouge notching their first win of the season.
In men’s football, the Goose Village Blackrocks and the Griffintown Gaels went back and forth in what was another close fought game. The Gaels sought to build on a solid backline, where most of their best play come via their MVP Aodhan O Gallchoir. the Rocks went with a more attacking style of football, and that was best shown by their MVP Corey Crawford being a constant thorn in the Gaels side.
Until well into the second half there was no daylight between the two sides, and either team could have won it, but a moment of madness saw the Rocks snatch two quick goals and with that put the game out of the reach of the Gaels, and moved themselves off the bottom of the table.
